Stemettes Music Production Masterclass with Abbey Road Runner Marta Di Nozzi

As part of Stemettes' response to the Covid-19 outbreak, the organisation have been running 12 weeks of online events for their community and the wider public. The informative online sessions have been inspiring and supporting young women into STEM careers, and for week 10 they were joined by Abbey Road runner Marta Di Nozzi.

Marta moved from Italy to London early in 2018 to study on the Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering course at Abbey Road Institute. Since graduating she has now joined the Abbey Road Studios engineering team as a runner, working on various sessions from Joe Bonamassa to Nile Rodgers.

Marta also led our first Abbey Road Equalise production masterclass earlier this year, where attendees were exposed to the ‘real world’ experiences of a recording studio environment, who broke down the fundamentals in recording and production.

And now last week, Marta gave an interactive lecture on music engineering, what it's like to work in this sector and how she landed her role. For the masterclass, she was joined by 38 attendees and Stemettes' host Jazmin. Marta gave the attendees an insight into the studios and the importance of STEM within it. She also explained more about her role and the different aspects she has to deal with on a daily basis. There was also a quiz at the end of the lecture where Marta quizzed the attendees or how much information they picked up throughout the session.
