Win a One-on-One Production Feedback Session with BROCKHAMPTON'S Romil Hemnani

Back in April, we launched a Songwriting in Isolation competition, It’s All About Your Topline, which saw over 500 participants record their originally written songs on Topline (Abbey Road’s free songwriting app) for the chance to win a one-to-one mentoring session with either Nile Rodgers and Poo Bear, Giorgio Tuinfort or Jamie Scott.

We are now setting a new creative challenge for lockdown by launching a music production competition inviting artists, musicians, producers, engineers, composers and sound designers across all levels to create a new piece of music for the chance of winning a one-to-one feedback session with Romil Hemnani – producer and songwriter from U.S. hip-hop band BROCKHAMPTON.

Win a production feedback session with BROCKHAMPTON's Romil Hemnani!

The tracks can can be any genre, length or style, but producers must have one of Abbey Road’s plugins or sampled instruments found here and make use of it within their recording. NOTE: If you currently don’t own any of the Abbey Road Audio Products, Waves Audio offers a 7-day free trial of any plugin from the Abbey Road Collection pack. No purchase necessary.

These submissions will then be shortlisted by a team of Abbey Road Studios engineers before moving onto Romil Hemnani who will choose a winner from the shortlist and work with them during a 30-minute online feedback session.

Participants will have until midnight on Wednesday 8 July 2020 to submit their entries as either an MP3 or WAV through Abbey Road’s competition form and have to attach a screenshot of the Abbey Road Audio Product(s) used within their project. About Romil

Romil Hemnani is a American record producer, audio engineer, and DJ best known for being one of the main producers for American hip hop band BROCKHAMPTON.

Born and raised in South Windsor, Connecticut, Romil began producing music in his bedroom as he cited it as his "little save haven". In 2015, Romil met the members of ALIVESINCEFOREVER through the internet forum KanyeToThe and soon made the move to Texas to help produce tracks for members of BROCKHAMPTON. After the group re-branded themselves as 'BROCKHAMPTON' and moved to Los Angeles, Romil continued to be one of their three main producers alongside production duo Q3 (Jabari Manwa and Kiko Merley).

They released their first mixtape All-American Trash in 2016 and their first album Saturation in May 2017. And in 2018, the band substituted their house in LA for the iconic Abbey Road Studios, working in Studio Three for two weeks, leaving with Billboard number 1 album Iridescence.

We are thrilled to have Romil as part of the competition who will choose his favourite entry, from the shortlist by a team of Abbey Road engineers, to receive a one-to-one virtual feedback session.
