Saffron Launch Their New Member’s Club Supported by Abbey Road Studios

Saffron is a non-profit organisation that has always strived to remove barriers facing womxn in music tech, taking an intersectional approach to redressing the gender imbalance in the industry. Having run many successful courses and workshops over the last five years in Bristol, primarily in areas of music production, sound engineering and DJing, Saffron has today launched its new digital member’s club: Saffron Members.

Saffron Members is a tiered digital club on Patreon, providing year-round tools and opportunities for womxn to connect, learn and grow in music tech. Monthly subscriptions are available for womxn to purchase for themselves and we are delighted to be able to team up with Saffron and offer free bursary subscriptions from Abbey Road Studios.

What Does A Saffron Membership Entail?

The Saffron Members community will have the opportunity to come together each month in three online workshop strands, led by knowledgeable and inspirational guest hosts:

Tech Dissect - Music production/creation/engineering, based on their Tech Dissect events.

Mix Nights - Masterclasses and Q&As hosted by our Mix Nights DJ crew

Creative Communications - An open surgery hour led by music PR and marketing guru Jenna Knight.

As big supporters of the work Saffron do, we have provided a number of free member subscriptions, so if you are a womxn who would benefit from Saffron membership but are unable to afford it, please apply for a bursary place here.

Abbey Road Studios' Managing Director Isabel Garvey explains the importance of the work Saffron is doing, and how it aligns with the studios' goals: "I first met Laura Lewis-Paul and the Saffron team at their Tech Dissect event last year.  The work they are doing to teach, empower and create visibility for womxn in music engineering, production and technology is remarkable. Saffron is addressing the under-representation of womxn in these areas with positivity and creativity, which resonates with our own ambitions at Abbey Road. The new subscription packages create a supportive and fun learning environment for womxn to develop their skills, build confidence and launch their careers in music, so we’re proud to sponsor Saffron and support all the good work they are doing."
