Music For Film Masterclass with Spitfire Audio’s Composer, Homay Schmitz

Hosted by industry leaders and rising talent, get ready for a week of free online talks, mentor sessions and masterclasses in the lead up to International Women’s Day 2021.

Providing masterclasses with a number of the music industries’ leading womxn and panel talks with some of the UK’s most exciting rising female talent, the week long series will shine a light on both the artist and production career paths available in the music industry. The Abbey Road Equalise IWD Festival will also provide multiple one to one mentoring opportunities throughout the week, across a broader range of careers in the music industry beyond the recording studio and stage.

Music For Film Masterclass with Spitfire Audio’s Composer, Homay Schmitz

Spitfire Audio’s Homay Schmitz will guide you through writing a film cue using the Abbey Road One sample library. Learn about how to set up your session to score for picture, working to a brief, and how to begin writing the cue itself.


About Homay

Homay Schmitz has established herself as a composer with the world renowned British sample library company Spitfire Audio, writing themes, demos and trailer music for each new product, showcasing its orchestral tools designed for Film, TV and Game music. Homay’s recent works include commissions for Apple, Youth Strike 4 Climate and a string quartet piece for a special event celebrating IWD in partnership with The Church Studio, Foundation FM and Spitfire Audio (released on SA Recordings) alongside writing and arranging in collaboration with various artists. In parallel with her work as a composer, Homay releases music as a solo artist, including 2018’s ‘Speak Up’, released with Tape Club Records.
