Bowers & Wilkins Presents New Series 'For The Love of Music'

10th March 2021

Introducing For The Love of Music, a new series from our friends at Bowers & Wilkins which sees the Abbey Road team dissect their favourite tracks and discuss their love of music

Think about the last time you were truly moved by a piece of music, and ask yourself this: why did I react that way?

Bowers & Wilkins ask this question and more to five of the Abbey Road team as part of their brand-new For The Love Of Music series. First up is Geoff Pesche, the mastering engineer behind Gorillaz, Pulp and Neneh Cherry and the man who cut the original vinyl lacquers for both Blue Monday and Brothers In Arms. He’s joined by Grammy Award-winner Sean Magee, who has worked on projects for The Beatles, Ramones and the Sex Pistols, to name just three. Assistant engineer Andy Maxwell co-engineered Brockhampton’s US No 1 Album Iridescence, and worked on the mix sessions for Beyoncé and Jay Z’s Everything Is Love. Marta Di Nozzi, our senior runner, has worked on projects for Nile Rodgers and Joe Bonamassa. And finally, there is Innovation Manager Karim Fanous, who runs Abbey Road Red, our innovation arm, exploring the future technologies that will shape the music industry.

In part one of the series, the group is asked the provocative question: Is there no such thing as bad music?
