24th December 2023

Abbey Road Rewind is back for 2023, as our cracking team of engineers share studio stories, highlights and their ones to watch for next year.

Find out what mastering engineer Andy Walter, assistant engineer Tommy Bosustow and studio runner Justina Bryce shared from their year at Abbey Road.

What was your favourite project at Abbey Road this year?

Andy

"Dire Straits Live 1978-1992. Fabulous to work with band and remaster these legendary albums, along with unpublished material."

Tommy

"We worked on a tune with Porridge Radio and Ian Sweet recently which I really enjoyed. The track is great and everyone was a joy to hangout with so we couldn't of asked for more!"

Justina

"My favourite session that I was able to assist on would be the H.E.R. writing session with Jimmy Napes. It was really cool to witness a song being made from scratch. The ideas that were recorded sounded amazing even as a demo.

If not this one then the Mix With The Masters masterclass with Jaycen Joshua because Jaycen is one of my favourite mix engineers and being able to watch and learn how he mixes a track was incredible."

What was your favourite album of 2023?

Andy

"Rush - Hemispheres."

Tommy

"Rat Saw God - Wednesday."

Justina

"My favourite album of 2023 is Fridayy (self titled) by Fridayy."

Which new artist / band are you most excited about for 2024?

Andy

"Le Cataclysm - A fantasy soundtrack by me & Bryan Macdonald - (to be released Feb 2024)."

Tommy

"Tina Kit - Can't wait for more from them!"

Justina

"I'm excited to hear more from Chrissy Day. She's an R&B artist from London, who's incredibly talented. I haven't heard an artist like her from the UK which is refreshing and definitely needed to push the UK R&B scene forward."
