The Story

From the patenting of stereo to the invention of numerous recording techniques used across the globe today, the Abbey Road story will be told by Kevin Ryan & Brian Kehew - producers, musicians and authors of Recording The Beatles; the definitive book charting the studio equipment and techniques used to create The Beatles’ classic albums. During their research, Kevin and Brian dug deep into the EMI Archives, uncovering fascinating and often hidden stories of our history which will be brought to life through their talks.

What to expect...

Meet the Storytellers

Brian Kehew and Kevin Ryan, authors of Recording The Beatles, will explore the studios' legacy of innovation, the incredible artists that have passed through our doors and the music recorded for some the biggest movies ever made.

Access to Studio Two

The lectures will take place in the most famous of our studios, Studio Two. Guests will have time before the lectures begin to explore Studio Two and a display of instruments and equipment from our collection.

The Sound

Along with audio and video presented by Brian and Kevin, a string quartet, guitarist & pianist will play a special collection of songs and film scores throughout your experience in Studio Two.

Given the nature of the lectures, with close access to various rare and unusual pieces of equipment from our archives, the lectures only suitable for those aged 12+.

Those aged 12-17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

We’d ask that guests don’t bring large bags or luggage with them for their visit as there will be nowhere to store them at the Studio and taking them into Studio Two will not be possible.
