Since 7 June, Metro and Abbey Road have been on a quest to find the best new band or producer – with the top act winning a day recording at one of Abbey Road’s new studios.

We’ve been overwhelmed with the volume of entries - over 500 acts entered the competition making for a mammoth judging task. Massive thanks to everyone who sent us their tracks. Our three expert judges - Metro music & arts editor Malcolm Jack, Abbey Road engineer Matt Mysko and the legendary Nile Rodgers are still listening to your music, so we apologise for the delay in announcing the top five tracks.

We hope to do this by Friday 14 July. From then, it’s over to YOU! You’ll be able to hear the submissions of the top five acts and vote for your favourite.
