For nearly 90 years, the doors to Abbey Road Studios have welcomed artists, composers, songwriters, producers, orchestras and engineers from across the globe – coming together to create music that has provided the soundtrack to our lives. But on Tuesday 24 March, the famous oak doors closed for the first time, in line with the UK Government’s measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. Despite the demand, we had to close our online services as our engineers could no longer access the building.
And now, the Abbey Road team has returned to the famous house in St John’s Wood, to support the creative community with our engineering expertise.
To give everyone global access to their talent we are reopening
online mixing and
online mastering in a new, improved format:
- a new vocal tuning service, at £70 per track (available in mixing project)
- a cleaner process for reference tracks, demo mixes and additional project notes
- new turnaround timings reflecting our new operating guidelines and engineer working shiftsHead of Mastering
Lucy Launder explains:
"Since reopening the mastering department after Abbey Road’s closure, we’ve been inundated with requests from clients wanting to send in their projects for mastering remotely. We’re delighted to once again re-open our online mastering service. Our mastering engineers are working in isolated rooms allowing for safe working, in line with the measures introduced by the UK Government. We look forward to welcoming your project.”
