Symbolic of a new era at Londons historic Abbey Road Studios, multiple Grammy Award winning producer, guitarist, arranger and composer Nile Rodgers (of The CHIC Organization) is to be appointed to the specially created role of Chief Creative Advisor at the Studios. Rodgers, who has also been inducted into both the Rock Roll Hall Of Fame and the Songwriters Hall Of Fame over the last eighteen months, will assume the position with immediate effect. Nile Rodgers peerless influence across pop, dance and rock has resulted in hit collaborations decade after decade, with artists from David Bowie, Madonna, Diana Ross and Duran Duran, to Daft Punk, Laura Mvula, Sam Smith, Avicii and Disclosure. In 2018, Rodgers is about to set more precedents in his illustrious career with new collaborations, a headlining festival tour and the first new CHIC record in 25 years. Abbey Road Studios has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past two years, building new studios designed for emerging artists, opening a Mix Stage for film sound post production, launching Abbey Road Red Europes first audio tech incubator, and creating apps and services to make the Studios expertise more accessible to producers and artists across the world. Earlier this month, the Studios work was recognised with the prestigious 2018 Studio of the Year Award at the Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards.
