Manchester entertainment hub NQ announces partnership with Abbey Road Studios

13th April 2022

NQ's London sessions are to be hosted in newly launched writing rooms at Abbey Road Studios.

As we celebrate our 90th anniversary, we're signaling a new era with the creation of a resident creative community, based in a suite of new writing & production rooms opening next week.

Under the umbrella Abbey Road Connected, the studios will welcome a collective of resident artists and producers to the new Writing Rooms, while one room will be dedicated to hosting sessions from a rotating set of partners reflecting the cream of emerging UK talent. In a landmark partnership, Abbey Road Studios has invited Manchester’s global talent management & full-service entertainment company NQ to be the first of these rotating partners.

The new partnership will see NQ’s London-based writing and production sessions hosted within the newly opened Writing Rooms at Abbey Road, which have been designed to support the full spectrum of the creative process. This new relationship sees NQ’s burgeoning creative universe and Abbey Road Studios’ world-renowned recording excellence come together to form a unique home for the next generation of UK music makers. The two respected music brands unite in a shared vision to support diverse and emerging talent from across the UK.

Over the next 12 months, the partnership will allow NQ’s stable of diverse talent to make their mark on Abbey Road’s hallowed studio spaces with monthly sessions in the Writing Rooms, as well as provide opportunities that will allow the next generation of young creatives, upcoming talent, or those wanting to pursue a career in music from Manchester and the North West, a gateway into the music industry.

NQ House was officially opened in September 2021 by CEO Michael Adex and self-confessed Adex disciple, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham. The former Conservative Club on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre is now a state-of-the-art creative hub, accommodating multiple recording and content studios, a media lounge, co-working & podcast spaces, a private members area, as well as the NQ HQ. NQ House is also home to writing camps, recording sessions, as well as providing a luxurious self-contained recording and living space for visiting musicians traveling through the city.

The NQ x Abbey Road Studios partnership begins with a week-long writing camp that will bring together the likes of [ADD NAMES HERE].

NQ’s COO and general manager Louis Brown says, 'We pride ourselves on creating meaningful opportunities for Manchester and the North West and creating value for our clients in everything we do. This joining together of two respected music destinations celebrates a shared vision to support diverse, emerging talent across the UK.’

Isabel Garvey, Managing Director, Abbey Road Studios says, ‘As Abbey Road Studios celebrates its 90th anniversary, I can’t think of a better partner to open our new Writing Rooms than NQ. I’m excited to have NQ as part of the new creative community at Abbey Road and witness the best talent from the North and South collaborate within our walls.’

Abbey Road’s Artist Relations Manager, Jay Picasso says, ‘The exceptional quality of NQ talent matched with our own team at Abbey Road Studios makes this partnership incredibly exciting. We’re looking forward to seeing both talented teams collaborate and exchange knowledge across their various projects and – most importantly – create brilliant music.’
