Architects talk to Abbey Road - Full Interview

17th January 2019
Before their Spotify Singles session at Abbey Road Studios, Dan and Sam from Britsh metalcore act Architects sat down and spoke to us about the importance of their most recent record Holy Hell, recording in the iconic Studio Two and what 2019 has in store for them.

Their critically acclaimed eighth studio album Holy Hell, released in November last year, is the most overwhelmingly brutal Architects' album to date. It is their first after the tragic passing of guitarist Tom Searle, brother of Dan.

"The record has helped me massively" explains Sam. "They're extremely relatable for the rest of the guys in the band. I think the vulnerability Dan showed through writing has helped all of us become a lot stronger. One thing me and Dan were talking about a lot during recording, is hoping people would connect to it and feel as if they were not going through anything by themselves. It's an important record I think."

The band visited Studio Two last month where they recorded their original song Death Is Not Defeat and cover of Deftones’ Change (In the House of Flies) for Spotify Singles.
"Studio Two is madness for me. The Beatles are my favourite band and the majority of the photos I see of them are them in Studio Two."
