Abbey Road Talk To The Clockworks

Abbey Road Talk To The Clockworks

28th January 2023

Recording, Songwriting & Collaboration

Formed in Galway and now living in London, The Clockworks are James McGregor (vocals/guitar), Sean Connelly (guitar), Damian Greaney (drums) and Tom Freeman (bass). Making a unanimous decision to find their break in the UK capital, it proved a good one. Relocating in 2019, the quartet were signed by Creation records founder Alan McGee almost overnight.

Described by NME as shit hot and praised by CLASH for their ferocious sense of purpose, The Clockworks released Lost In the Moment on Christmas Day - a spur of the moment live track recorded in Studio Three.

We recently sat down with each member of the band to chat about the process of recording in Studio Three as well as their advice on navigating a career in the music industry.

In Case You Missed It...

At the tail end of last year we announced the latest release in our ongoing Abbey Road Lock-In series with The Clockworks’ new Christmas Day track, Lost In The Moment. A spur of the moment live recording at the end of the band’s ‘Lock-In’ session, Lost In The Moment is an emotive performance from the band’s singer James McGregor, alongside Tom Freeman, who plays the studio’s Yamaha CFX concert grand piano.

The track was mixed and recorded by Abbey Road engineer Matt Jones and assisted by senior runner Freddie Light.
