Beverley Knight talks to Abbey Road

4th July 2018
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NHS, Beverley Knight joined The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir along with a host of pop stars at Abbey Road to record The Beatles' classic 'With A Little Help From My Friends'. Beverley is no stranger to the surroundings of Abbey Road, as senior mastering engineer Geoff Pesche has been mastering all of Beverley's discography since her third album Who I Am.

"It was the first time I met the mastering legend that is Geoff Pesche, who has mastered pretty much everything I've done ever since". Beverley Knight was also part of an immense 10-hour recording session in Studio Two to mark the 50th anniversary of The Beatles album Please Please Me. Knight performed the albums' iconic final song 'Twist And Shout', accompanied by a full choir of backing singers. We sat down and spoke with the queen of British soul after she joined the NHS Choir at Abbey Road to record the charity single. The single will be released following The Big NHS Singalong live on ITV from 9pm tonight, with all proceeds going to the NHS Charities Together. Pre order here.
