It’s About Time is Nile Rodgers & Chic's ninth studio album and was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. In June 2018,
Till the World Falls, was the first single from Nile Rodgers & Chic's first album since 1992. The song featured
Mura Masa, Cosha and
Vic Mensa. The album hit the Top 10 in the UK and was the first Chic record to hit the Top 10 in 25 years. Two singles from the album were subsequently released:
Sober featuring
Craig David and
Stefflon Don, and
Do You Wanna Party featuring
LunchMoney Lewis. In December 2018, Nile Rodgers & Chic began their first UK arena tour, and shortly after were nominatde for a
Brit Award in the
Best International Group Category.
In November 2018, to mark the 40th anniversary of
Le Freak, Rhino/Atlantic released The CHIC Organisation 1977-79, a 6-CD box set containing Chic's first three albums,
Sister Sledge's We Are Family and a collection of rarities, including a facsimile of Chic's first single – a 12″ promo for
Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah) released by
Buddah Records in 1977. The audio for
The Chic Organization has been remastered from the original Atlantic stereo tapes by
Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, with Miles also overseeing the half-speed mastering for the vinyl. As executive producer for the reissue,
Nile Rodgers has personally overseen all elements of the audio remastering process.
