Tenderfoot Unveil New Album 'To Be Young' Recorded at Abbey Road

1st August 2018
Tenderfoot have enjoyed rapid, yet organic growth in recent years on the back of their debut EP, Beginnings, which has seen the band's music placed on multiple TV shows, movie trailers and radio programmes. Stand out track 'Chasing The Rain' was playlisted by Spotify and received support from Australian radio station Triple J. From this initial success, it sparked Audio Network's Global Head of Music Ali Johnson to approach the band after a sold out show on Sydney's Oxford Street in late 2015. This then led to the bands much anticipated full-length debut To Be Young. All 11-tracks off their debut album To Be Young were recorded at Abbey Road, where they brought in The English Session Orchestra to play on eight of the tracks, with producer Julian Emery (Lissie, Nothing But Thieves) at the helm.

'The Balance' opens the album with a sombre warmth, similarly reflecting the mood for the rest of the album: Driven by frontman Vella's truly enchanting vocals and songwriting, the record takes you on a journey through ambient textures, cinematic compositions and sonic soundscapes, all rooted in classic song craft. John Vella spoke about the bands reaction to hearing their compositions, played by a full orchestra at the studios: It was a pinch-yourself moment, when the three of us got there and the orchestra started playing our songs, in that room with all that history, the hairs went up on our arms. We were like, Whoa, craziest day ever! Listen to the stunning release on Spotify and watch the video for 'The Balance' below.
