Sgt Pepper 50th First Listen

13th April 2017

Earlier this week, journalists of the world gathered in Abbey Road’s iconic Studio Two to hear the long-awaited remix of The Beatles’ eighth studio album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band which turns 50 years old this year. Listening to the tracks for the very first time in the same room that they were recorded in, the lucky audience were taken through the album by the man who remixed it, Giles Martin, son of the album’s original producer “fifth Beatle” Sir George Martin.

The playback also included 34 previously unheard bonus tracks, alternate takes on the album tracks that fans will know so well.
