LOVE - Album by Ernest Jedd

21st November 2018
LOVE is the debut album from Vienna-based singer and songwriter Ernest Jedd which was released earlier this week. The album is in many ways a unique production and is the result of the work of almost 50 international musicians led by legendary producer Haydn Bendall. Bendall is perhaps best known for his work with Kate Bush, Tina Turner, Massive Attack and Pet Shop Boys, as well as movie scores such as the Oscar and Grammy-winning The Last Emperor. Haydn, of course, is an Abbey Road veteran, starting his career at the studios under former boss Ken Townsend in 1973.

The album consists of nine tracks including a number of originals by Ernest and Nashville-based composer Simon Reid, as well as some carefully selected covers by the likes of Bob Dylan, Billy Preston and Joni Mitchell. The album is one of those relatively rare releases to have been recorded in all three of the original, historic studios at Abbey Road: Studios One, Two and Three.

LOVE tells a true story of "two souls that the universe brought together once upon a time in London". Recorded primarily as a charity project, all profits from digital sales of the album will support cancer prevention projects selected by the album’s producers.

"Cancer prevention is the issue which is extremely important to me - as I lost my father and both grandfathers to cancer. I hope that we will be able to encourage everybody to discuss cancer prevention with their family physicians and raise money to support cancer prevention programmes." says Jedd.

The release is accompanied by a short documentary that will give more insight to the production process as well as the story itself.

The album is distributed as digital download from all major digital stores, however a very limited edition of just 100 CDs is shared by the producers - with a personal message from Ernest - aimed at igniting a chain reaction that will raise awareness around cancer prevention.

Five copies of the album will be available for free at the Abbey Road Shop at Number 5, Abbey Road. Please come into the shop and ask for it at the counter.
