Jed Kurzel Scores Alien: Covenant Prequel Film

15th May 2017

The second instalment in director Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror Alien prequel series Alien: Covenant, which is in cinemas now, features a chilling orchestral soundtrack scored by composer Jed Kurzel and recorded here in Studio One.

Jed Kurzel has this to say about his time recording at Abbey Road,

"It was a real privilege to record the score for Alien Covenant in Studio One at Abbey Road; special place, special people! Thanks to the Abbey Road family."

Assisted by Abbey Road engineers John Barrett and Matt Jones, the score borrows themes from Jerry Goldsmith’s original 1979 Alien score and you can stream the whole album now on Spotify. The film follows 2012’s Prometheus, which also featured an Abbey Road recorded score written by composer Marc Streitenfeld.

James Horner’s soundtrack for the original film sequel Aliens was also recorded here in Studio One back in 1986.
