Frank Arkwright Masters Texas’ Jump On Board

24th April 2017

Last Friday Glaswegian pop rock legends Texas released Jump On Board, their ninth studio album and second release since they reunited as a group 4 years ago.

The excellent album which has already seen video releases for the tracks Let’s Work It Out and Tell That Girl (the former features footballer Thierry Henry, see below) was mastered at Abbey Road by mastering engineer Frank Arkwright, whose previous credits include albums by The Smiths, New Order, Coldplay, Oasis, Bryan Ferry, Blur and Johnny Marr.

Frank had this to say about working with Texas on the release,

“It was cool to meet Sharleen and Johnny for the mastering session, and they both attended it. I’d always liked Texas since seeing them at the Marquee Club early days. As soon as I heard the first two tracks I knew I was going to like mastering the album. They were very cool to work with and knew exactly what they wanted whenever I asked. "Can’t Control" is my favourite for the deep bass line groove, but I love the nu-disco influenced tracks as well.”

Jump On Board is available now, to buy or stream.
