As a teenager Paul played guitar in bands in and around his hometown of Bristol and this introduced him to the art of recording. He saved up for a four-track cassette recorder and has never looked back.
Paul joined Abbey Road as a runner in 2007 on a placement scheme from the prestigious Tonmeister course at the University of Surrey. His warmth, willingness and attention to detail was an instant hit with the staff at Abbey Road and he was invited to become a permanent fixture after graduating in 2009.
Since then Paul has worked as an assistant /pro tools engineer on a large number of projects across a variety of genres including pop and rock sessions with Alt-J, Ed Sheeran, the Arctic Monkeys, Chas and Dave, Sting, Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Sigur Ros, Take That, Birdy and Elbow. Live studio sessions include Harry Styles, Paolo Nutini, Alt J and Blondie, while film scores include Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Les Miserables, Unbroken, San Andreas, Fantastic Beasts and King Arthur. Classical sessions include Villazon/Pappano and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Paul is also an Engineer in his own right, recording the late great Jack Bruce's album Silver Rails and co-engineering Kylie's Abbey Road Sessions as well as a direct to vinyl session with Future Islands and the London Gay Big Band.
Paul is excited about the two new studios at Abbey Road that will give the opportunity for more people to enjoy the Abbey Road experience.
