Marcus’s passion for music began when he began playing classical piano at age seven. He progressed quickly in this discipline, so much so that he was granted a music scholarship in secondary school, allowing him to learn the trombone as a new instrument.

As he began to strengthen his performance and musicianship skills, Marcus’s interest began to grow towards electronic music production after watching many production related videos online. Mere curiosity eventually grew into an obsession, so much so that he enrolled himself at East London Arts And Music in 2019 to further hone his craft.

Alongside his music production endeavours, Marcus began to engineer for ELAM’s live shows and live sessions, his most memorable moment being engineering for a live session under the direction of Drum and Bass titan Will Kennard (Chase and Status). After graduating from ELAM, he enrolled in Point Blank Music School to further refine his production and engineering skills.

During this time, he started offering freelance engineering services in a wide variety of styles and genres, from pop and electronic to afro and jazz. This allowed him to gain invaluable experience, as well as collate a varied portfolio working on both small and larger scale projects. Two years of study and a Bachelor’s degree later, Marcus was certain that he wanted to continue working on studio projects as an audio engineer.

Marcus joined the Abbey Road team in February 2024. He is looking forward to working on new and exciting projects alongside many talented musicians and engineers.
