Jonathan has a worldwide reputation for his work recording and mixing film soundtracks, classical music, game soundtracks and a wide variety of other album projects.
He comes from a musical background having studied piano and violin until 21 when he went to Royal Holloway College, London University to study Music and Drama, followed by a year in Paris at L'Ecole Normale de Musique and then a job at Abbey Road where he learnt the technical side of recording on the job.
Jonathan's projects have been nominated for and won many industry prizes from Grammys to Gramophone Awards. His film projects include titles such as Return of the Jedi Special Edition, Michael Jackson's This is It, The Hours, Toy Story 3 and recently the new Matteo Garronne film Tale of Tales (composed by Alexandre Desplat). Jonathan has recorded and mixed for composers such as George Fenton, Alexandre Desplat, Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Joel McNeely, Maurice Jarre and John Williams. Jonathan has worked on hundreds of albums including over thirty with the conductor Antonio Pappano (including the recent release of AIDA for Warner Classics) and recently has produced and engineered the new album, Blackbird, for the classical guitarist Milos.
His albums cover a diverse cross section of music making from classical albums for all the major labels, jazz albums with Vince Mendoza and the Metropole Orchestra and pop albums with Laura Mvula and a remix of Freddie Mercury's album Barcelona. Jonathan also broadcasts live to cinemas and produces and engineers Blue Ray releases for the Royal Opera House, London. In 2013, Jonathan received a BAFTA sound award for recording and mixing the soundtrack to the film of the musical Les Miserables.
