Charlie is Abbey Road’s newest member. Passionate about capturing and manipulating sound, he has experience working in a wide-range of recording and mixing situations from orchestral and film scoring sessions to tracking bands and solo artists for commercial releases.
He began his foray into music at an early age listening to his parent’s music collection. After teaching himself to play the guitar in his early teens, he discovered a passion for creating music that set him on the path to get a Bachelor of Music from the Australian Institute of Music.
His interests shifted to focus on sound engineering after leaving university, and in 2020 he began his career as an assistant engineer at Underwood Studios in Australia. While working at this studio, he collaborated with a host of emerging talent and soon began interning at The Brain Recording Studios, recording local and international hardcore acts on top of his assistant duties.
In 2022, Charlie began a role as assistant engineer at Trackdown Studios where he worked on a number of high-profile film and television scores such as The Kingdom of the Planet of The Apes, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and Marvel’s What If? and Echo. In addition to operating Pro Tools on television and gaming scores, Trackdown also offered Charlie the opportunity to further his passion for recording bands and work with a number of rock and pop acts.
Charlie has already worked closely with leading engineers such as Peter Cobbin, Kirsty Walley, John Kurlander and John Chapman, providing him with a wealth of knowledge and mentorship that has broadened his recording knowledge and inspired the dedication he has garnered for sound engineering.
In 2025, he moved to London and pursue his dream of working at Abbey Road and just a month after arriving, that dream became a reality. Charlie is excited to become part of the Abbey Road family and walk in the footsteps of the legendary engineers that came before him.
