Studio Runner

Ben started playing guitar and taught himself to record with an SM57, quickly becoming immersed in the art and craft of music production. This curiosity led him to study Music, Multimedia and Electronics at the University of Leeds, where he built a strong technical foundation in electrical engineering for music and developed a deep understanding of audio hardware. He went on to refine his skills at the Abbey Road Institute, engineering and assisting on sessions ranging from bands to large-scale classical recordings, before working as a freelance producer and mixing engineer at Miloco Orinoco Complex and Bryan Ferry’s Studio One.

Since joining Abbey Road Studios, Ben has worked across a wide range of sessions, including film scores for Enola Holmes 3 (composers Aaron May & David Ridley and engineer Fiona Cruickshank) and Anxious People (composer Thomas Newman and engineer Simon Rhodes), orchestral and choir sessions for Matt Bellamy and big band recordings for Livingston Taylor, cementing his reputation as a versatile and trusted engineer across genres and formats.

Recently he served as studio runner on War Child RecordsHelp(2) album featuring the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Damon Albarn, English Teacher and Beabadoobee, contributing across all Abbey Road sessions.
