FilmInstitute**Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets, which explores the pre Dark Side years of Pink Floyd’s music, will release a concert film this Spring documenting the drummer’s 2019 performances at London’s Roundhouse. Live at the Roundhouse was mixed in Studio Three by Nick Davis assisted by Matt Jones, mastered in stereo by Miles Showell and in 5.1 by Simon GibsonThe band consist of Nick Mason, Gary Kemp, Guy Pratt, Lee Harris and Dom Beken and were conceived with the simple aim of playing early Pink Floyd material from the pre The Dark Side Of The Moon era.
Three initial performances in London in May 2018 were followed by sold out dates in Europe, the UK and North America in Autumn of that same year. A handful of extra UK shows were announced for April and May 2019, including two nights at The Roundhouse – the venue where Pink Floyd first played on 15 October 1966, at the International Times launch party.
The setlist for Live at the Roundhouse includes Arnold Layne, Vegetable Man, Interstellar Overdrive, Atom Heart Mother, Set The Controls For The Heart of the Sun and See Emily Play. The band completed the project at Abbey Road, and appropriately mixed the album in Studio Three with engineer Nick Davis and Abbey Road's Matt Jones. Studio Three is also where Pink Floyd recorded much of their discography, including their experiments with mixing in quadraphonic sound. The mix was then mastered in stereo by Miles Showell and our own Simon Gibson in 5.1 surround sound.
This live recording is being issued as a 2CD+DVD set, a double vinyl package and on blu-ray and will be released on 17 April 2020.
