Abbey Road engineer Simon Rhodes delivers film score with James Horner for highly anticipated film release Avatar

Abbey Road is happy to announce the safe return of engineer Simon Rhodes from 11 months in LA working on the must see sci-fi movie Avatar. Simon worked closely with composer James Horner to deliver the music to this much anticipated film.
James Horner's score for James Cameron's 3-D sci-fi saga Avatar is the film music event of the year. One of the reasons behind the heat surrounding the Avatar score is, of course, that the film itself is one of the most anticipated Hollywood movies to hit the big screen in recent years. Another reason is that putting the names Cameron and Horner in one sentence means gold: Aliens from 1986 is regarded to be among the finest action film scores ever written.
More than 10 years in the making, Avatar marks Cameron's return to feature directing since helming 1997's Titanic, the highest grossing film of all time and winner of 11 Oscars including Best Picture. Avatar is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film's production.
The film, featuring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, is due for release worldwide on December 18th by 20th Century Fox in both 2D and 3D formats with an IMAX 3D release in selected cinemas.
Avatar: Music from the Motion Picture the official score album is currently on sale, including the film's end title song, I See You, performed by Grammy Award nominated singer Leona Lewis.
