Jonathan Allen - Recording & Mixing
Biography
Jonathan has gained a worldwide reputation for his work recording and mixing classical music, film soundtracks and a wide variety of other album projects. He has also produced albums and tracks for many labels including EMI. Over the last couple of years Jonathan has mixed live cinema projects from the Royal Opera House in London, the last of which, in September 2011, went live to over 700 cinemas worldwide. His projects have won many industry awards and nominations including the Grammys and Gramophone.
Following a degree in Music and Theatre from London University, Jonathan joined Abbey Road Studios in 1993. He works with many international artists mixing and recording projects as diverse as Tristan and Isolde with Placido Domingo, jazz albums with Vince Mendoza and new music for the Michael Jackson film This is it. Recent projects for 2011 included new albums for EMI from Angela Gheorghui and John Wilson, producing two outdoor summer concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (pop and film), recording music for the new Microsoft Star Wars Kinect game and recording and mixing a 3D feature film of Madame Butterfly.
